Every year the members of the Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County select persons to honor for their service to the county. The honorees are given the title of Lord or Lady Fairfax.
Their titles are announced at a meeting of the Board, and later that same night are invited to attend an awards dinner with their chosen guests.
